Ortovox Haute Route 40 Backpack

Ortovox designed the Haute Route 40 backpack for longer ski touring excursions. Its 40-litre capacity ensures plenty of room for your layers, safety kit, food, and water.

To aid with packing and accessing gear, you can open the main compartment from the top or rear. Inside, there’s space for a hydration bladder, while the light-coloured fabric lining makes items easier to spot. The separate front compartment is sized to fit a shovel and probe, ensuring you can quickly retrieve your safety equipment. There are side and diagonal ski fastenings plus snowboard and snowshoe attachment points. Use the integrated net to hold your helmet. Rope, crampon, and ice axe loops keep climbing equipment secure.

Comfortable to carry, the O-Flex-2 back system includes load control straps, an S-shaped stabiliser, and wrap-around hip fins. A central foam cut-out saves weight and improves ventilation. Made from Cordura and 420 denier polyamide, the PFC-free fabrics have a PU coating for increased water and abrasion resistance. Practical, durable, and ready for the mountains, the Haute Route 40 will be a ski touring favourite.
